HKAB Community Education Programme - Financial Education Workshop

The Hong Kong Association of Banks (HKAB) and the Hong Kong Council of Social Service (HKCSS) joined hand together and organised a series of workshop to grassroots families in financial education since 2010. Through the coordination from 6 NGOs, volunteers from 12 Member Banks leveraged their expertise and knowledge in financial management and delivered the financial education workshops with proper financial management concepts to the low-income families in different local districts. Over 900 participants joined the workshops throughout the past years.

A series of 12 workshops will be held annually. During the workshop, HKAB volunteer team will explain and introduce various methods and channels of savings, loans and other financial products. Participants will also go through a specially designed financial quiz to understand and review their fiscal attitude; HKAB volunteers will also guide participants to discuss and share views on some cases with financial difficulties that may be encountered in daily life. Participants deemed that the workshops were practical and easy to understand. They could help them to recognize the importance of financial management as well.
